Kawasaki-Versys touring Fun any road

I'm 6'2" 350 lbs and the Versys carries me fine. I fixed the seat problem with this and this. Not the most glamorous fix but it got me through a 600 mile trip to the Outer Banks and Eastern Shore Virginia last week. Its great for commuting. Most people get 45-50 mpg. Check out http://www.kawasakiversys.com/forums/. Lots of guys do some adventure riding with the V. There are several options for side cases. I have Shad SH-42s (which I don't recommend btw). I've seen a few pics of a Versys with Trax cases and they look pretty good on the V. I lowered the footpegs on mine and its much more comfortable on long rides as I have a bad knee. besides the seat which is terrible, the windscreen is not good either. There are several alternative windscreens, but none really stand out as a much better option based on posts I've read. I have a Givi windscreen and its ok. I love my V!! its great fun in the mountain twisties too!! GET ONE!!!!

I bought my Versys as an entry touring/adv bike after getting into riding last year and I've been really happy with it. Apart from the good you'll read about it, the stock seat is uncomfortable. I'm 27 and haven't taken it on any long trips so it's been alright for me. Bicycle shorts may help.

There is also a buzz in the front near the speedometer around 3k rpms that's rather annoying. Most have fixed w/ some weather stripping and I don't let it bother me w/ earplugs.

Other than the buzz and seat its a fun bike! I've got around 2300 miles on mine since the end of February this year.

I'd like to really see where my Versys can take me but my wife isn't too happy with me going for a day ride and calling her from miles away saying I'm not going to be home for a couple of days

2009-2010 The New KAWASAKI-VERSYS

Kawasaki announced the availability of the Versys in the U.S. market for 2008. "The new 2008 Kawasaki Versys is a machine which occupies a hard to define sweet spot in the motorcycling universe. Is it a practical commuter? Long-legged urban assault vehicle? Sportbike? Light Tourer?

The answer on all counts is a resounding Yes! This isn’t a niche specialist but rather a jack-of-all-trades with user-friendly versatility as one of its many charms.

The Versys is led by the ER-6n and followed by the Ninja 650R. Don’t let the green bike’s racer looks deceive you. The Ninja has nothing on the Versys when the roads get twisty.

The Versys and ER-6n also share many features with their fraternal-triplet sibling, the Ninja 650R. But while the Ninja 650R and ER-6n have identical, peakier versions of the same engine, the Versys has revised intake and exhaust cams, a 10.6:1 compression ratio instead of 11.3:1, and redline set 500 rpm lower at 10,500.

While officially considered a “worldwide bike,” the Versys was designed first for the European and Canadian markets, and launched there in 2006. Then after many requests from U.S. riders, Kawasaki brought it in, at first as a 49-state 2008 model. California got its Versys in 2009, when a required evaporative emissions canister was fitted.

Even so, the bike is still much better appreciated in Europe, as evidenced by its sales performance.

“We also have to realize that the lion's share of Versys are purchased in Europe where they understand and embrace this type of motorcycle and where it is ridden enthusiastically,” says Kawasaki’s Public Relations Supervisor, Russ Brenan.

The American motorcycle press never underappreciated the Versys, however, and some publications loaded it with accolades, saying it is well suited for anyone, be they new or experienced or somewhere in between.

Kawasaki has developed the KLX based on the foundations of their bigger machines. They have ensured that their research into suspension, motor and chassis with the KX and KXF machines has not gone to waste and have utilized as much as possible on the KLX.

But where can you find a KLX 110 for sale?

Well, there is no simple answer, as it seems like they are fairly low in circulation. The most obvious thing to do is to search the forums that are directly related to mini bike riding and racing. Planet Mini members usually have quite a few bikes on offer, although most I contacted were already sold.

Apart from searching online, you could try checking the papers in your local store. Look in the classified ad section of motorcycle, motocross and mini bike magazines and papers and you'll soon see that there are plenty of bikes available. Of course, not all of these magazines will have a KLX 110 for sale, but all you can do is try!

Are you looking to get into the mini bike scene? Have you looked at as many mini bikes as possible and think that the Kawasaki KLX110 is the right one for you? Did you think about purchasing a Honda CRF50 but have now realized that it does not have the power output that you require? Have you searched throughout the internet and you are becoming confused by the amount of different bikes available? Do you just want to know which the best bike to start on is, but will last a long time? Great! This article will help you understand why the KLX is one of the best mini bikes on the market, and why you should look at purchasing!
https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7q66KU6J-2Fh0_G8pGQiC3zfcSBqxPF2CNa-lpZEOAXe5Nu-UvOPRR7LlC-bX2BzyYN69y0-pGeNMMPHGV0OJGq54SxcgPHTq8uRZafttkXuYcz8TkH7I_k9qyiEv0sksKzWyGeujpKo/s1600/2010-Kawasaki-KLX110Lf-small.jpg

Here is the thing about mini biking; it is only in the last few years that it has really taken off. Before this point, most people used mini bikes for what they were designed for; cruising around the pit areas on race day. Since this point they have become so much more than that. In fact, mini bikes are now in a class of their own and a lot of people are trading in their full size bikes, to have a bit of fun on much smaller machines. If this sounds like you then you have probably researched all the bikes on the market, and finally made a conscious (and extremely good) decision about which bike you want to purchase!

The great thing is; you have made the right choice. The KLX is a fabulous mini bike and over the last few years Kawasaki has developed it from a pit bike, to a mini bike racer. Instead of being a means of travelling around the pits, it can now be used to race other like minded mini bike fans!

Kawasaki 2011
The 2011 season is knocking at the door, and certainly not unprepared for the Japanese to seize Akashi. We have already seen the forms of new Ninja ZX-10R Superbike, which will secure the protagonist of the International Exhibition in Cologne.

The British press speculates then the debut of the W800, a model "vintage" clearly recalling the previous W650 that has many followers in Italy.

And from Italy comes the news of another heavy debut, that of naked sports Z750R. Will be shown to the press September 15.
In a moment, then: marked the appointment on the agenda to see how it changes one of the most popular models in recent years by riders of the Bel Paese!

Kawasaki Z750R
Thanks to one of the most powerful engine in its class, a four-cylinder of 748 cm3, with an output of 106 horses, and excellent handling, the Z750 is enjoying great success throughout Europe.
The new Z750R is equipped with high quality suspension and brake system inherited from the Z1000 (MY '07 '09 and '10). The new dome and two-tone look gives the R a more aggressive style. Starting from a basic model that already offers exceptional handling and precision-guided in many situations, Z750R enriched suspensions and brake components of high quality.
The upside down fork 41 mm is derived from the Z1000 (07-09MY). Now the rebound can be adjusted on both sides of the fork for a more precise (the preload can be adjusted on both sides as before). The Uni-Trak rear suspension has a shock absorber with separate tank of nitrogen.
The extent of linkage rear suspension (174 mm> 172 mm) has been modified to match the new swingarm. With this change the damping action is improved, more consistent with the initial action, followed by a softer feel for better absorption of bumps.
The four-piston front calipers to squeeze double radial petal disc 300 mm thicker (4.5 mm>> 6 mm) for better stopping power and greater responsiveness. The front brake master cylinder actuated radial helps to optimize the control and the answer provided by the new calipers.
The coated steel pipes for a more direct driving feel, the complete front brake system. Also for the rear brake uses a coated tube steel. The caliper piston uses a smaller diameter (14 mm> 12.7 mm) to compensate for the more direct application of the brake fluid supplied from the pipe covered with steel. Models are available with ABS. Even models with ABS are fitted with tubes coated steel. The front wheel with six spokes Ninja style, with reinforced rim helps balance the overall frame Z750R.

WELCOME 2010 NEW Kawasaki Ninja 1000

Kawasaki comes another juicy anticipation, Z1000SX.
The muscular naked Akashi SX version comes in: it is as hull fairing and to devote himself to those who love the sport bike yes, but in comfort.

The four-cylinder engine in line with 1043 cm3 DOHC 16-valve liquid-cooled provides a higher power (the value will be announced later) and more torque than the previous Z1000. The new engine has been chosen to honor the name and status acquired over time by this model.

The front disc brakes with 300 mm petal of Z1000 are close to radial-mounted calipers with four opposed pistons. The size of the caliper pistons are 4x30 mm. The radial pump front brake control helps to control and optimize the response provided by the new brake calipers. The rear brake features a 250 mm petal disc squeezed by a single piston caliper. For extra safety in braking, in some markets are available on models with ABS.

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R Like the 1000RR

Like the 1000RR, the GSXR and the Beemer, I don’t care for the styling, especially from a front on view. Again that gawd awful UGLY 45 gal drum of a muffler that mercifully they painted black so it’s no quite so obvious.
Cosmetics aside, it’s getting a lot of mention in WSBK…especially after that great ride Sykes just put in.
Let’s hope it’s as good as it looks like it should be and we have a seventh manufacturer competitive. It’s been a very long time since a Kawasaki has been competitive on pavement…

The Kawasaki ZX-10R needs hardly any tweaking for it to work straight away. That's why it's such an unstable, scary monster on the road when you accelerate over bumps at speed. But on a straights, and is faster than the Ri. But compared to the Yamaha you have to wait too long for the power to chime in when you get on the throttle, so it feels slower coming off a corner. Taking the corner in a lower gear won't catch the R1, either - the lower gear slows you down too much going into and through the corner.

Kawasaki's all-new ZX-10R (priced at $13,799, or $14,799 with ABS) raises the bar with an aluminum twin-spar anatomy comprised of just 7 parts, a added bunched body, and a thoroughly re-worked inline-4 that pumps an alarming 207 application in European trim (when ram air is in effect), and almost 10 beneath ponies in the EPA-friendly agreement for the U.S. market.

A three-mode absorption ascendancy arrangement comes accepted on the new ZX-10R, and ABS is optional; the non-ABS adaptation has a barrier weight of 436.6 pounds, but the ABS version's burden is TBD. Other appearance cover 43mm Big Piston Forks (as begin on endure year's ZX-6R) and a accumbent hotlink rear suspension.

The Kawasaki was my early favourite. It steers beautifully, holds a line, is agile in the chicanes and has a storming amount of power. If we had left all the bikes on standard suspension settings, there's a good chance the Kawasaki could have taken the victory in this track test.

All the other bikes here are set up to be stable and reassuring on the road, with relatively soft set-ups and slow steering. It's not until you adjust them - speed up the steering and stiffen them up that they become useful on the track.

Just like the Yamaha R1 the Ducati takes a lot of ambience up to get it to plan about the track. You charge to get it on its adenoids so it'll beacon able-bodied abundant to change administration and authority a line. It aswell needs lots added damping to ascendancy the weaves and wobbles accomplished by the burning ability supply of the V-twin engine and accommodate the adherence to ascendancy the dive acquired by the angry Brembo Monobloc brakes.

Properly set up it's a admirable clue bike. You feel perched up top and it's a continued way down to get your knee down. It's still slow-steering, too abnormally compared to the R Blade and ZX-10R.
